Counting just passengers using the low-budget, Spanish airline at Edinburgh Airport, Vueling reached a huge milestone recently, after it recorded its 400,000th customer travelling through the Scottish airport. The achievement was reached as Tracey McTeague, a South Queensferry resident, boarded her flight to Alicante with a pair of free return flights to Barcelona.
Gabriel Schmilovich, Director of Network Strategy & Planning, said: “We’re delighted to celebrate this milestone with Edinburgh Airport – it’s an important part of our network in the UK connecting Scottish passengers with our Spanish hub”.
Vueling has operated from Edinburgh Airport since 2012 and have provided over 100,000 seats from Edinburgh alone since last summer. As winter fast approaches us, Vueling will be offering up to 3 weekly flights to the city of Barcelona, where plenty of connections to destinations such as the Balearic Islands, Canary Islands and Morocco are available.
Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport Gordon Dewar added: “This is a fantastic achievement for Vueling, who are an important partner for us. Since coming on board they have offered increased choice for our passengers and we look forward to growing our relationship with Vueling and the IAG group, and celebrating many more milestones in the future – and I hope the lucky passenger enjoys their trip!”
Scottish travellers who are seeking a spot of winter sun can pick up tickets for regular, direct flights to Barcelona with scheduled prices as low was £31.99 one way!
